El Segundo, October 15, 2021 – Ocean West Management Services, a division of Ocean West Capital Partners, was victorious last night at the 35th Annual BOMA Greater Los Angeles TOBY Awards in Beverly Hills. The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) is awarded to the best managed buildings in their respective classes. The buildings are judged by property management peers in the industry. The winners are selected from several dozen entries each year.
The Taft Building in Hollywood (1680 Vine Street) won the TOBY for best Historical Building. The criteria are that the building is at least 50 years old and retains its original character. The Taft building was built in 1923, but has been thoroughly modernized in recent years, while keeping key features such as the classic façade and the grand staircase in place. The building management team consists of Tracy Childress (Senior Property Manager), Alice Simitian (Property Manager) and Anthony Ramirez (Regional Chief Engineer).
777 Aviation in El Segundo won the TOBY in the 250,000 – 499,999 SF category. This building was the original headquarters for Xerox Corporation. It has been modernized in recent years with updated features such as a grand atrium, extensive outdoor seating and other tenant amenities. The building management team consists of Elke Sehr-Pelusi (Property Manager) and Oscar Olmedo (Chief Engineer).
